Hi!  To start off, I think this is a problem with KOS or (possibly) the 
newer version of Mandrake;  you may want to contact them to help 
determine the problem.  That said, I'll do what I can to help, but I 
need a little more information.  I've stripped out some salient parts of 
the script from helloworld-os to figure out what's going on on your 
machine---if you run the attached script and reply with it's output, 
that will be a big help in determining what's going on.
