Summary: grub-install fails: vstafs_stage1_5 not able to read
Original Submission: Installation is on a HP Proliant DL380 w/ a 5i RAID
controller. Envirnoment is GEntoo Linux v2004.1 new installation. This all
occurs in a chroot'd envirnoment.
Kernel is 2.6.1
Grub is having problems with the reconigtion of the c0d0 block devices. Running
Grub in command mode is not pretty. Even after creating a device.map file,
setup (hd0) fails because it can't find stage2.
the grub-install script does reconize the c0d0 block devices, but I am not sure
where it is failing. I have exported the /proc/mounts to the /etc/mtab file so
that grub-install can locate the devices. Any ideas?
Any more info needed?
Thanks
