I am successfully using pxegrub with e1000 and other NICs using
grub-0.95 plus grub-0.95-diskless-patch-1.patch.gz from
https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?func=detailitem&item_id=9408
(I haven't tried the second version or the experimental UNDI support
yet)
