Just for fun have you considered asking HP? It seems they are very eager to
support Linux on nearly all of their examples of hardware.

I should think that the family member you've mentioned might be listed
someplace.

Now as for the obvious, what distribution are you using, and what does the
menu file look like. Those details will enable all of us to help you.
