Here is a patch that fixes it.
thanks! i've applied the fix (but not the patch directly, preferring to
move the proto to within the `#ifdef' block) to both stable and unstable
branches. simple testing w/ a "./configure --enable-debug-freelist &&
make && make check" doesn't show any problems.
