Good catch! It was an error in the error handling. Fixed in git. The
message is now:

<unnamed port>:2:1: In procedure apply:
<unnamed port>:2:1: Apply to non-list: 4

Good you fixed it. I was actually trying some code from the link mentioned before, thinking "this cannot work", and lo and behold, a crash!
