Error Unziping files

We are using the below version on Red hat Linux

gzip 1.3.3 & gunzip 1.3.3

(2002-03-08)

 

1.       We used gzip -f to compress file

2.       We used gunzip to uncompress but we were not successful  with
some times. Not all files are failed only few.

Failure:                 gunzip: pv_bookings_measure_ff.dat.tmp.gz:
invalid compressed data--crc error

gunzip: pv_bookings_measure_ff.dat.tmp.gz: invalid compressed
data--length error
