bug#32867: -k Option Not Recognized

-k (—keep) was added in version 1.6.

You can pipe the output to keep the original. E.g.

    gzip -c something.txt > something.txt.gz

or similarly decompressing:

    gzip -dc something.txt.gz > something.txt
