 The task list isn't really dated.  Perhaps, you can start by getting your
own GNU/Hurd system up and running.  Once you have done that, you may want
to familiarized yourself with the API and the design decisions made for the
Hurd.  http://hurd.gnu.org has all the pointers you will need.
