Indeed for an project as open as this, we can't expect you to come up
with a definitive list of items you're to complete, and the time needed
for doing that.  I think it should be enough if you identify some
specific items that can be worked on (for example, certain classes of
compiler warnings, identifying and ripping out unused functionality, make
the code "more readable").

Well, you can easily start by sending a patch to fix one specific
compiler warning.
