What is it about the code that doesn't conform to the RFC?

The same argument would hold for Arnt's own srv.{h,c} code, from 1998,
which is part of old BIND contrib/srv/, and hopefully soon also
gnulib.  (The code above is derived from his code.)

I'm only offering another option here.  If the GNU InetUtils
maintainers prefer to use RULI, that is their prerogative.
