You are at the right place. For more immediate and ad-hoc issues you
can catch Alfred Szmidt (nick: ams), Miles Bader (nick: snogglethorpe)
or me (nick: debarshi/rishi) in #gnu or irc.freenode.

To start with, here are somethings you could attempt:

+ Factoring out the common code between ping and ping6, which had been
discussed here:
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-inetutils/2008-06/msg00007.html

+ Random bugfixes and patches reported on the address@hidden
list. eg., http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-inetutils/2007-10/msg00000.html

+ Missing features to make Inetutils a drop-in replacement for the
*BSD and NetKit [1] implementations.

+ Loads and loads of testing. :-)

Whatever you chose to do, use the code from the CVS [2] or the daily
snapshots [3].
