How remarkable that precisely the test script 'libls.sh' is able
to detect a code deficiency. While constructing the test I always
thought it to be more of documentation more than anything else,
after I fixed the issued that were resolved in commits close in
time to the committed script!
Anyhow, I have made quick build checks with the suggested patch
-- only white space was changed by me -- on OpenIndiana, FreeBSD
and NetBSD, testing GCC, Clang and Sun Studio as compilers,
on i386 and amd64. No further issues were found. I will proceed
with some more systems before making a commit in your name.
