I do not have that file; I sent it to you make sure you had the exact copy. I was unable to replicate the error by modifying the files that I have. Apparently, that very exact file hit a bad allocation. That figures.
I tried a few hours before giving up, experimenting both with earlier and later versions of the file. Normally, I would keep a copy until the bug has been safely received. But I was just doing some experimentation, and I have never before encountered a list where the mail attachments are just thrown away.
Too bad...
Well, if the problem is in Guile, perhaps the problem is fixed by switching to a later Guile version.
I have not encountered an email list where one just throws away attachments. A more normal policy would be to keep the material until a moderator have had a look at it.Yes indeed. Would you like to volunteer?
Sure. But reality prevents me. :-)I understand the problem with labour shortage. There is really no good solution to the spam problem. If say the server sends an automated reply, then that could trigger a flood of letters, as spam ofetn has fake return addresses, just to achieve that. But if has an automated system that just throws data away with no notice, one must expect that sometimes some important stuff gets lost.
