9x12 std. sheet music paper (status)

A couple of previous threads were dealing with the issues of trying to use
9x12 (standard sheet music size) paper with LilyPond PDF output....

Is there a fix available for this at this time, or will a fix be included in
any version after 2.8.0?

Can a non-programmer print properly onto 9x12 paper (without hacking into
the PDF rendering source code) using v2.8.0 at this time?

Adobe Reader does not seem to be getting the proper information about the
page size.  And LilyPond spacing extents are erroneous when using 9x12,
seems to be wrapping staff measures too soon, line width plus margins dont
seem to add up to 9 inches, etc., not sure what aspects are due to lp or pdf
or ps.
