Ok, the notion of putting a barline inside the tie hadn't occurred to me. Thanks, it works.

First of all, it's a slur not a tie (please make sure that you understand
the difference, the Glossary included in the LilyPond notation can help
you if English is not your native language).

The way the syntax works in LilyPond is that anything that is directly
connected to a specific note is entered directly after the note name.
In this particular example, you want to tell LilyPond to start the slur
exactly at this note, but it could also for example be that you want a
beam to start/end on the note or that you want to attach a textual
annotation above this particular note. The bar check is something that's
inserted between notes, i.e. it has to come after all the stuff that belongs to the previous note.

Does it make sense?
