Convert rule 2.11.23 replaces _any_ break-align-symbol and its symbol
with a break-align-symbols list containing just that symbol.
This is reported in the NEWS as a syntax change.
So presumably break-align-symbols is no more than a generalisation
of break-align-symbol, simply catering for more than one symbol.
But this interpretation does not tally with
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/lilypond-devel/2007-05/msg00002.html
In define-grobs.scm 2.12.2 there are
- 11 grobs with break-align-symbol
- 2 grobs with break-align-symbols (BarNumber and RehearsalMark)
This looks out of sync with convert-ly,
but maybe the break-align code caters for a transitional phase?
In the following case it doesn't:
The custos trick in
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/lilypond-user/2006-09/msg00467.html
was not demonstrated there, but it works.
The corresponding override currently in the LSR is ineffective.
