I disagree (see below). The reason why the rests "look strange" is
that the change Pitch gives them a different "pitch" and therefore
affects their vertical placement. Gilles, perhaps it might be worth
adding a filter to leave rests alone?

I'm not gonna add a new issue named "\partcombine sucks" -- we already
know it does :)
