Comment #7 on issue 934 by percival.music.ca: GUB doesn't include Japanese
fonts
http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=934
Running lilypond from the command-line works with utf-8.ly. But now I
remember that
the builder sets up its own environment and clears everything but a few
specific
environment vars. That's probably why utf-8.ly isn't compiling cleanly in
the actual
doc build.
I don't know offhand how to reproduce this environment-cleaning on the
command-line.
I'll investigate this the next time I'm working on GUB.
To clarify, I was never suggesting that the *binaries* should include
japanese fonts.
Rather, I was suggesting that the *builder* should include japanese
fonts. In other
words, as long as "make bootstrap" completes successfully, the builder
should not
depend on tools/fonts in the underlying system. I mean, if the builder
goes to the
extend of installing tools::patch, I think it should do
tools::international-fonts as
well.
