Some of us, including be, appear to prefer the new behaviour in 1474. OTOH  
it appears that 1120 my be resolved in a way that restores the old  
behaviour of 1474. May I suggest that:

1) If 1120 is resolved such that the old behaviour of 1474 is restored we  
simply accept that as resolving the issue and anyone who likes the new  
behaviour enough can make a feature request for it.

2) If after the resolution of 1120 the new behaviour of 1474 remains, we  
accept this new behaviour and document it somewhere.

I don't think this is an important enough issue to hold up version 2.14 and  
I don't think that lily with the new behaviour of 1474 is any worse than  
older versions.
