The problem is not a rounding error.  The first problem Reinhold identified  
is detailed in issue 1816, which has a patch.  We know the problem, we know  
the solution, and we have the fix ready.

If you would like to move forward on this, please test that patch.   
Otherwise we'll just wait for James to test it (to move the patch from  
Patch-new to Patch-review, at which point it can go through the countdown).
