If "it's all about making LilyPond better", the proper way is to deliver  
prompt and complete feedback and analysis and make it as easy and enjoyable  
for developers to make a fix.  This may include offering a bounty.  The  
reporter should avoid creating the impression that the purported importance  
of the fix is inversely proportional to the amount of resources he is  
willing to invest himself.

That being said: I have seen decidedly worse.
