Hello,

Please be informed that GNU mailutils version 3.5.90 is available for
download. This is an alpha release. Most important changes in this
release are:

* imap4d: SEARCH command

** Implemented SEARCH CHARSET

** Improved SEARCH BODY and SEARCH TEXT commands

Both commands now properly descend into multipart message parts and
decode messages, if necessary

* Fixes in the 'mail' utility

** New mailbox notation @

@ can be used with any command requring a mailbox name to refer to the
file given with the -f option, e.g.:

   save 10 @

** Sender addresses in message sets

An arbitrary string in message set is treated as sender address, as
required by POSIX. It expands to all messages whose sender addresses
as displayed in a header summary match the string. Thus

  print alice

will print all messages that have word "alice" in their From: header.

** showenvelope

With the showenvelope variable set, previous version incorrectly displayed
envelope on the stdout, instead of using the current output stream.

** pipe command

Last argument always specifies the command to pipe messages to.

** echo command

The echo command behaves similarly to its shell equivalent. In
particular, variable and command expansions are performed.

** fixed / and :/ searches in message sets

** Fix and improve command and argument completion

** Don't print original file name, use postprocessed URL representation

The original file name might contain passwords (although such usage is
discouraged).

** Improve folder handling and name expansion

** Fix header display after deletions

* Fixes in IMAP client library

** Speed up opening IMAP mailboxes

Initial scan of an imap mailbox retrieves, among other data, message headers.
This considerably speeds up the operation of such tools as mail
(initial loading), frm or from.

** handle EXPUNGE response

This fixes interoperation with Dovecot imap.

** fix incorporation of new messages

* Improved documentation

[*] Use a .sig file to verify that the corresponding file (without the
.sig suffix) is intact. First, be sure to download both the .sig file
and the corresponding tarball. Then, run a command like this:

  gpg --verify mailutils-3.5.90.tar.gz.sig

If that command fails because you don't have the required public key,
then run this command to import it:

  gpg --keyserver keys.gnupg.net --recv-keys 3602B07F55D0C732

and rerun the 'gpg --verify' command.

This release was bootstrapped with the following tools:
  Autoconf 2.69
  Automake 1.15
  Makeinfo 5.9.93
  Gnulib v0.1-2313-g4652c7b

Sergey
