thanks - my script has some special cases to override the assignment (to
ensure that entrypoints used by tack are global), but these aren't special (so
it sounds as if there's a problem in the script's merging process).

When I get beyond this stage, I have another scripting change in mind,
to make the ABI 6 symbols distinct from ABI 5.

Then I can go back to finishing the MinGW port :-)
