Hi Bryan

This is not advice and I am not an expert but I want to mention that 
discussions about number of colors seem to miss a very important point, 
the default 8 colors can be overridden. We can have 8 color choices but 
that does not mean we are stuck with only 8 pre-chosen  colors.

I did some experiments a few months ago and I had pink font in the Linux 
console(pink is not my favourite). The console only supports 8 colors 
but it is enough for me if I can change them.
