Yep.  Sorry.  Use LVM!  Parititons suck, hehe

It's because it's surrounded.  If you have *lots* of free space on /home,
or something, then it may be possible to resize, etc.  In general, it's
an NP-complete problem (grrr).

no, only the boot partition.  Just, traditionally, they have been
the same...
