Ok :)

I think, that would be great! But Yury Umanets is the maintainer and he
wrote he would look into the issue if he has enough info because he can't
reproduce the corruptions. Please also note, he doesn't have much time for
these thing anymore:

What info could help? At least,

   - kernel version, also if it has extra patches, especially reiserfs
related ones. Despite Hans Reiser's vehement objections, several
distros do patch reiserfs heavily and this could be one of the
     reasons for the corruptions.

   - reiserfs configuration, parameteres

   - parted version, especially if it has extra patches.

   - progsreiserfs version

What could be tested? If the corruptions are reproducible by using the
latest and vanilla kernel, parted and progsreiserfs. Providing step by
step instructions how to reproduce the problem would be also tremendous
help.

If you don't get help in the future then you could go the alternative way,
by using the Namesys supported (I hope) utilities from reiserfsprogs and
wrap mkreiserfs, resize_reiserfs, etc. This is how QTParted does for NTFS
and maybe for other filesystems (xfs_grow?). You could also have NTFS and
ext3 support this way (e.g. resize2fs can resize ext3).

Have fun,

        Szaka
