partition IDs.

in Linux's fdisk as well as his web page.

This change is only relevant to DOS partition tables (as opposed to Sun
disk labels)?
If by DOS partition tables you mean the fdisk partition table that is stored in
the MBR then yes.

The Solaris disk label and vtoc, which is stored at block offset 1-2 inside the
Solaris partition is unaffected.
