slow ped_device_probe_all( )

Hi ppl,

A user of gparted just filed this bug:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=161054

in short it comes down to this: ped_device_probe_all( ) takes up to 9
secs when there's no cd in the drive. With cd it's a lot faster.

I was wondering if there are any known issues with probing?
