It's not hard using the file I send you with this mail. First, forget about all the boot and root disk stuff mentioned in the Parted manual -- it's obsolete. Then follow these steps: 1. Put the file on a new diskette and make it executable: $ chmod 755 parted.static 2. Boot up your favorite rescue CD (for example, GRML, INSERT, Knoppix, ...). 3. Put in the diskette you prepared and mount it, e.g. $ mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy 4. Execute the binary on it: $ /mnt/floppy/parted.static 5. Done! Let me know if you are experiencing any problems.
