Hi,

I tried to install ubuntu 6.06. When the installer comes to disk
partitioning, it does not see any of my existing partitions in my harddisk
(200G). I've tried to launch directly gparted : same result.

from the command prompt, fdisk sees everything :

 # fdisk -l /dev/hda
 Disk /dev/hda: 203.9 GB, 203928109056 bytes
 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 24792 cylinders
 Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

 Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System

Some months ago I tried to install OpenSuse 10.0, and I had the same
problem (OpenSuse uses Qparted). I reported the problem to Opensuse people
without any answer then I gave up.

I've PClinuxOS 0.92 and Mandriva installed and the installer of these
distros have no problem to see the partitions.

I suspect there is something wrong in parted. Do you know this problem ?
Is there any workaround or fix ?

Thanks for your help
