here is the ouput of a script i made that read the partition table:
1rst sector sectors start end
hda1 63 658602 63 658665
hda2 658665 13639185 658665 14297850
hda3 0 0 0 0
hda4 14297850 105804090 14297850 120101940
hda5 63 16739667 14297913 31037580
1 10281600 14297851 24579451
hda6 16739792 11727387 31037643 42765030
28467180 11711385 42765030 54476415
hda7 63 32097807 42765093 74862900
60565050 16739729 74862900 91602629
hda8 63 10281537 74862963 85144500
70846650 23246055 85144500 108390555
hda9 63 11711322 85144563 96855885
82558035 16739729 96855885 113595614
hda10 63 23245992 96855948 120101940
0 0 14297850 14297850
the first 2 columns are read from disk the 2 last ones are computed.
one can see that the size of the extended partitions (the one with no name)
is wrong ! OMG
and the start of hda6 and the extended partition before hda6 is wrong
too...
what a mess.
i can't be sure that gparted create that ... may be that was like that for
some time ago...
but it works linux runs ok ... fdisk sfdisk and gparted (parted) can read
the partition table
they don't care of the sizes of the extended partition it seems. while
cfdisk does.
even when i change 1 into 16739730 and 16739792 into 63 in the partition
table that does not work because hda6 is not seen anymore ...
