If I were to do that, I would be testing a tarball built with my
version of automake, my version of makeinfo, my version of bison, and
my version of flex. But the release tarballs will be made by you, with
your version of automake, your version of makeinfo, your version of bison,
and your version of flex. And gettext and gnulib as well. Therefore it
is more effective to test tarballs that you have generated in the same
environment as the release tarball in a couple of days.
