I can only imagine that you forgot something.  Since 'uname' gets the
the data from the kernel and reports it the kernel you are running
thinks it is what it is.

  man 2 uname

Check your lilo.conf file and make sure you are booting from where you
think you are booting.  There is some detail that is missed.
