"In no way" is a little extreme; some diffs can be quite clear.

I've easily spent as much time on some of my commit messages as the
patch itself.  Now, that's not always attributable to having to write a
list of affected files and entities, but it can incur a time-consuming
pass to make sure everything is present and accounted for.
