[Bug-tar] unsatisfied symbol in libtar.a

[FischRon.external]

I'm trying to install Gnu tar on a HP-UX 11.11 machine, using gcc 3.2.

I run the installation with

  ./configure --prefix=$HOME

and get the linker error

  Unsatisfied symbol "__strtoull" in file ../lib/libtar.a[xstrtoumax.o]

What is going wrong here?
