Please explain how you did compile star. Setting CFLAGS will cause the
compilation to fail.

Please try to explain why star in your tests takes more system CPU time than
other programs.

Star's list speed is the same as with gtar, please explain your results.

In a comparable test, star never extracts slower than gtar.
