I wouldn't worry about that test failure.
It's a known problem with getcwd on traditional
Unix and BSD.
We're looking into a better way of solving the problem,
one that doesn't involve using getcwd, and once
that is implemented this problem should go away.
In the meantime it's low priority, as 'tar' is rarely
invoked in environments where 'pwd' fails.
