    ./../../autoconf/doc/autoconf.texi:9869: Argument of @asis has an extra

It was a bug in texinfo.tex that @asis was ever accepted as the argument
to @itemize; unfortunately this was not realized from the beginning.
The fix is to change line 9869 of autoconf.conf to instead use
@itemize @w{}
