[Bug-wget] Download speed only 20kBytes/sec on a 2Mbps link

Greetings,

I am trying to mirror a ftpsite / folder. This ftp site is very much for our
use. so no issues with multiple connections etc. 

But when I use wget -m ftp://ftpsourcesite.com (with a 2Mbps link) the most I
can get is 20-25kbytes/sec. There are no restrictions on using the entire
bandwith i.e. about 200kBytes/sec

lftp utilises the bandwith but balks by using 98% cpu

It's a Centos 5.3 box. I have raised the isse in Centos List too

Can somebody throw some light on this and help solve the problem
