I've applied the recommended solution to the current mainline sources at
http://hg.addictivecode.org/wget/mainline/ (see
http://wget.addictivecode.org/RepositoryAccess for information on
obtaining and building from development sources).

However, quite a lot has changed with the building set-up with Wget, I
would not at all be surprised if something else is broken on HP-UX
builds. Worth a try though.
