My reasoning is simply this: if gmake works when I don't pass that flag,
and fails when I do... then all things being equal, the bug is quite likely
in gmake. Particularly when running top in another window shows that my
load-average peaks around 2.0.
Is it the same for you? What happens if you pass '-l 10.0' or even, '-l 100.0'?
Of course there's plenty of scope for me to be entirely wrong in that hand-
wavey armchair analysis.
