Well, it says
"DECLSPEC may be any of the following:"
-- fixnum is not listed, fixnum*-arithmetic is*
"[declaration specifier] ([number-type] TYPE)"
Here "number-type" is optional and TYPE may be "fixnum".
But that is indeed not very clear from the documentation.
And for some reason export() is not documented here.
