[cp-patches] [generics] Merge for 2005/02/02

I'm committing the attached patch to merge the changes in HEAD on 02/02/2005
to the generics-branch.

        (get): Don't use or set is_trying.

        * vm/reference/java/lang/VMClassLoader.java: Remove SystemClassLoader
        import statement.

Note that the SystemClassLoader patch was partially added last night, when
the build failure was spotted on compiling the merged generics branch.  Thus,
this patch will not be the same as the sum total of the three original patches.
