Yeah, formatting issues are a bit of a pain because we have not always
been consistent in the past. We are trying to change that to have all
code be consistently formatted. A real automatic indenter will help, but
even then some things will have to be fixed by hand.
The codeing style used is explained in the Hacker Guide under
"Programming Standards":

If you find anything inconsistent between actual practise and what is
described there please say. It could very well be that we have not yet
documented current practise completely correct yet.
