Sure.  Please run these commands and send us the output:

    /usr/local/bin/touch --version
    truss /usr/local/bin/touch some-file

Also, run "df -T DIR" on the directory containing the file you are trying to 
touch, and tell us the file system type it reports, just in case that is 
relevant.
