coreutils 8.20 was released on 2012-10-23

So given the current stack of changes:
http://git.sv.gnu.org/gitweb/?p=coreutils.git;a=blob;f=NEWS;h=754b2cf8
I think it's worth cutting a release soon.

I was hoping to do a release in maybe 2.5 weeks including,
latest gnulib, numfmt, selinux enhancements to cp,mv,
and this cut adjustment http://bugs.gnu.org/13498,
since there are already a lot of cut fixes in this release.

BTW, I'm wary about adding dd [io]flag=seekable support,
as I'm unsure of its usefulness. I'm waiting for more +1s
on that thread before merging/discarding.

So I hope to release a snapshot Jan 30th,
and after a week of testing release on Feb 7th.

I'd also like to look at the df deduplication patch,
which was backported downstream and has caused some issues:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=887763

The df dedupe issues should be addressed now.
numfmt has landed, and there have been a couple
more bug fixes in the meantime.

I'd still like to get to review/push the
selinux enhancements to cp,mv for this release,
so the schedule above has slipped by about a week.

On consideration the selinux changes are a bit invasive/risky
for this release, which is now comprised mostly of fixes,
with a few low risk changes. There is little benefit to
merging for this release. I'll merge soon after.

Expect a snapshot to test in a few days.

snapshot tomorrow.

thanks,
Pádraig.
