The main on-disk format for TWiki is RCS files. This is used for both
binary and text content. Within this format the deltra-tree and version
are the only fields used.

Further information can be found in the man page rcsfile(5).

Also look at the RcsLite development work. It would be quite
straightforward for a perl-dev to work from this to convert TWiki rcs
files to some sort of XML.

I'm not sure now XML relates to DBs, but using RcsLite as a basis it
would be possible to work towards something with a DB backend.
