Hi,
My efforts have focussed on getting a set of patches ready to submit
DazukoFS to Linux mainline. A new page has been set up to track this
progress.
http://dazuko.dnsalias.org/wiki/index.php/Linux_Submission
DazukoFS is being split up into multiple patches. This will make it
easier for Linux developers to review the code. The first patch is
simply a nullfs and each patch thereafter adds DazukoFS features. The
planned patch list is currently as follows:
1. patch-dazukofs-nullfs
2. patch-dazukofs-1-group
3. patch-dazukofs-multi-group
4. patch-dazukofs-group-tracking
5. patch-dazukofs-ignore
Right now only the first 2 patches have been posted. And those 2
patches are not yet complete. They only include the source code, but
do not add any significant documentation.
Putting the patches together is proving to be an interesting
experience. Taking the software apart and cleanly reassembling it in
the form of layered patches has helped to identify (and fix) a couple
issues.
Feedback is very welcome. I hope we can get the patches as clean as
possible before approaching the mainline developers.
