Are there (emacs or vim) key bindings available in ddd for searching through the
code? I see the 'spawn editor' option, but that really is inadequate if want to
maneuver through the current file...

And how much of a chance would there be of encorporating something like this?
Personally I'd prefer vim - since when I'm using emacs, I'm usually using 
the debugging package that comes along with it.

I know that this goes somewhat against the 'separate components' unix grain,
but it really would provide a cool service. And it could be an optional compile
target/option - you could add options for different debuggers as their apis 
become available.

Please let me know if you have any feedback, and I'll bring it up with the vim
development team.
